About Not Dead Yet
Not Dead Yet is an Austrian electronics repair and documentation project based in the Salzburg area.
We focus on board-level diagnostics, real repair attempts and practical repair documentation for defective electronics
that would otherwise become electronic waste.
The project is run by Daniel and Andi, two power electronics engineers who are tired of seeing repairable devices
written off because of one failed component, one corroded connector, one cracked solder joint or one damaged power rail.
What Not Dead Yet repairs
Not Dead Yet works on electronics where board-level diagnosis makes sense. Typical repair candidates include graphics
cards, game consoles, automotive electronics, appliance control boards, power supplies, laptops, measurement equipment
and other devices with electronic faults.
Common fault types include no-power conditions, no-display problems, failed voltage rails, short circuits, damaged
connectors, liquid damage, thermal issues, intermittent failures and component-level defects.

- Automotive electronics such as instrument clusters and control modules
- Appliance control boards from household devices
- Power supplies and switching regulator faults
- Laptops, measurement equipment and other repairable electronics
How the repair process works
Each repair case starts with intake and diagnosis. We look at what the device did before it failed, what has already
been tried and which measurements make sense before replacing parts.
- Intake: what failed, when it failed and what was already tried.
- Diagnosis: measurements, visual inspection, heat, rails, shorts and signals.
- Repair attempt: component replacement, connector repair, trace repair or board-level work.
- Verdict: revived, ongoing, parts donor or honestly declared dead.
Not every device can be saved. Some repairs end with a working device, some become parts donors and some are declared
dead honestly. The goal is not to fake perfect success rates. The goal is to show what real electronics repair looks like.
Why Not Dead Yet exists
Modern electronics are often thrown away too quickly. Many boards are replaced as complete assemblies even when the
actual fault is a single component, a broken solder joint, a damaged connector or a failed capacitor.
Not Dead Yet exists to reduce electronic waste, share repair knowledge and show that many devices deserve a proper
diagnosis before they are written off.
We believe electronics repair should be practical, transparent and honest. A successful repair is worth documenting,
but a failed diagnosis is also useful when it helps others understand what went wrong and why a device could not be saved.

and board-level diagnostics from a practical engineering perspective.
